What is system design?

System design is the process of defining the elements of a system, its architecture, modules and components, the interfaces between them, and the data that flows through it. In cloud computing you can think of it as the architectural diagram or template. Just as a building's quality depends on its architectural layout, the quality of cloud infrastructure is determined by its architectural design.
